Nobody likes seeing prices go up, but it seems that just like death and taxes, inflation is inevitable. Controlled, low inflation is what every government aims to achieve, but it being necessary doesn't mean anybody is fond of it. In fact, customers dislike inflation so much that companies have been increasingly reliant on alternative ways to maintain their profit margins while keeping the prices at the same level. Some cut down on the size of their goods, others on their quantity or even quality.
However, many customers dislike this underhanded tactic known as shrinkflation even more — at least a price hike is straightforward and honest. Companies try to make the changes less apparent, but vigilant shoppers still manage to catch a lot of them red-handed. Imagine how many more are probably getting away with it!
