Lying is generally frowned upon. Everyone knows that telling the truth is usually the best thing to do. Sometimes in life, a lie is necessary, but most of the time, telling the truth is the better option.

Some people treat lying like a hobby, which is strange. Some people make up the most insane stories about their lives that are just so unbelievable it's impossible that anyone would think they're true.

Why do they do this? It's hard to say. Some people do it to push some agenda they have, some people do it to make themselves look better, but mostly people do it for attention. It's so cringeworthy to see someone post and defend a story they so obviously faked, but it happens a lot.

Reddit's "That Happened" is a sarcastically titled subreddit made for sharing all of the outrageous stories these online liars post to the web. Here are 25 of them that are just so bad.
