Turn off that bodycam, sheathe your sword and take a load off. It's time for the Weekly Meme Roundup, where we review five of the biggest memes of the past week that you might have missed out on.

This week on the internet, actress Sydney Sweeney gave culture warriors everywhere a stockpile of new ammunition (and a meme format), a billionaire made everyone on X / Twitter cringe thanks to his killer sword skills, actress Cynthia Erivo gifted us with yet another reaction GIF and more.

Here are all the memes of the past week that you have to catch up on.

Cynthia Erivo Shocked Reaction

The rising queen of reaction content, actress Cynthia Erivo, came back in a big way this week with a brand new meme after a fan found and returned her long-lost hat.

Erivo is no stranger to becoming a meme, especially a reaction meme or GIF. Recently, we've seen a video of her tapping her bald head become one of the biggest memes of the year, while another clip of her saying, "I didn't know that was happening," has also become a classic meme format.

Now, we've got a Cynthia Erivo meme to use whenever we're shocked about something, and it's all thanks to a viral video of a fan reuniting her with a hat that she lost at the 2024 London Wicked premiere.

The video itself sees a very grateful Erivo react with absolute shock as a fan approaches her and shows her a photo of the lost hat, proving that she picked it up at the premiere. A follow-up video shows that the hat was shipped and returned to Erivo, making for a wholesome reunion between woman and expensive hat.

X users are now taking Erivo's shocked reaction and flooding the site with memes based on it. Expect a lot more Erivo reaction GIFs in the near future.

Cassius Thundercock / Chad State Trooper

A Tennessee state trooper nicknamed "Cassius Thundercock" has become the darkly comedic face of police brutality this week thanks to TikTok.

The officer, whose identity was originally a mystery, was seen walking onto the field after a 2024 college football game between Tennessee and Mississippi. Tennessee handily won the game, resulting in a flock of people walking on to celebrate with the team.

Among them was the viral police officer, seen with thick glasses, a strong chin and a hat pulled over his face, obscuring it in the shadows like some sort of anime antagonist. While images of the state trooper started going viral in 2024 due to his Chad-like appearance, the cop saw a huge increase in attention recently after clips of him resurfaced on TikTok.

TikTokers were quick to evolve the jokes surrounding the trooper, who has far too distinct a look to ignore. They awarded him the nickname "Cassius Thundercock" for his threatening police aura and started claiming that he's a cartoonishly evil cop who hasn't had his bodycam on "since 'nam."

The memes have taken over TikTok for the past week, taking the form of everything from cosplays of Cassius to AI-generated slop and beyond.

Sydney Sweeney GQ Interview

Actress Sydney Sweeney was once again the most "popular" girl on the internet this past week after she made what some have deemed a very based move during a now-viral GQ interview.

During the interview, GQ editor Katherine Stoeffel asked Sweeney about her contentious American Eagle jeans ad. For those who don't remember, Sweeney and American Eagle caught a lot of flak for the ad from people who believed it was filled with white supremacist dog whistles.

As anything involving Sweeney (except for many of her movies) seems to do, the American Eagle ad became one of the most viral stories of the year, and now, so has this interview. During the Q&A, Sweeney refused to apologize for or even talk much about the ad, despite what some saw as Stoeffel pushing for a statement against the company and white supremacy in general.

This interview section turned both Sweeney and Stoeffel into memes that reinterpret and recontextualize their discussion to fit whatever side of the culture war you might fall under. We saw Sweeney and Stoeffel get Wojaked, saw Sweeney get the Burger King crown treatment, witnessed the birth of the slang millennial smirk, the list goes on.

Now, please raise your hand if all this hubbub inspired you to see Sweeney's latest box office flop Christy … anyone …? Hello?

Alex Karp Wielding Sword

A bunch of people were forced to learn Palantir CEO Alex Karp's name this week when a clip of him wielding a pretty cool sword went viral on social media.

The behind-the-scenes clip of Karp comes from an interview between the CEO and podcaster Molly O'Shea. In the clip, Karp just can't help but show off his swordsmanship skills. He even strikes a neat little pose and thrusts the sword forward, probably while imagining that he's stabbing a dragon or an orc or something cool like that.

Whatever he was thinking about in that moment, you can tell he had a really good time showing off his moves to O'Shea, due to the big smile on his face and a second, even swifter stab, followed by a little flourish. Somebody's been studying the blade.

This clip made the rounds on social media and inspired a mixed bag of reactions and memes. A lot of people took the opportunity to dunk on Karp for being a rich nerd and failing to rizz up O'Shea, with most people simply deeming him cringe.

What happened to the days when a man could swing his sword in peace? Thanks a lot, internet.

Kirkified / Charlie Kirk Face Swap Memes

Finally, one of the more controversial yet massive memes of 2025 recently dropped on X like a nuclear bomb, and it's all about editing Charlie Kirk's face over anyone and everyone — known as "Kirkification."

Kirk, who you probably know was assassinated earlier this year, has become something of a martyr for the right over the past few months. But despite the recency of his passing and just how many people on both sides of the political aisle his death affected, memes about Kirk have only intensified in that time.

Now, those memes have hit a new height thanks to X user @wapzahra, who edited Kirk's face onto the IShowSpeed Trying Not to Laugh clip back in September, acting as the first domino in what's now an inescapable meme online.

The meme is known as "Kirkification" or "Kirkified," and it seems to have no bounds. When a GIF, meme or photo pops up on X, it's only a matter of time before Kirk is added to the content in some way, shape or form, usually by replacing the face of whoever is in the content with Kirk or otherwise hiding him in the background.

It's an arguably insane meme that definitely won't vibe with everyone, but it's also undeniably huge, making it an interesting example of just how wild social media has become in 2025.
