In the seventh episode of the second season of Ted, the character Matty Bennett jokes that eating eggs after 11 a.m. is gay. In the scene, he describes his logic in detail, convincing his son and the titular character Ted that eating eggs after 11 is, indeed, gay.

Late in March 2026, TikToker @retroh00pers took the scene and edited it together with highlight reels of pro basketball player Klay Thompson, who happens to play under the number 11.

These absurd and flashy edits indirectly joke that Thompson is gay, an arguably immature joke that took off on the app. Since then, the TikToker has been posting many similar edits that start with a gay joke from a show or movie, followed by Thompson's gameplay clips.

How Is 'Eggs After 11' Used In Memes?

The edit by TikTok user @retroh00pers inspired other TikTokers to make similar edits of Thompson, many of which joke that Thompson is gay. The creator of the trend has also been posting these edits non-stop, with numerous examples going viral across social media.

Now @retroh00pers is claiming that Thompson's legal team sent them a cease and desist notice. Clearly, this hasn't phased them too much, as they've now started incorporating the alleged letter into their edits.

Effectively, the purported cease and desist notice has only acted as an example of the Streisand Effect and drawn more attention to the edits and memes.

Now, we just have to wait and see how Thompson's legal team responds to @retroh00pers' continued edits, if the claim is really true.
