What Is The 'What’s Your Favorite Cereal?' Meme? How A Random Podcast Clip Became A Brainrot Meme Explained
Sometimes all it takes to make a new brainrot meme is a simple question, an unexpected noise and a whole lot of creative editing. That’s exactly what happened with the "What’s Your Favorite Cereal?" meme, which turned an otherwise ordinary podcast conversation about Froot Loops into one of TikTok's latest viral sounds.
The original clip comes from the YSK Podcast in 2025 and features two hosts discussing their favorite cereals and arguing over the coloring and flavor of Froot Loops.
When one host is asked, "What’s your favorite cereal?" he responds with a prominent lip trill, producing a vibrating sound by pushing air through his lips.
The clip resurfaced on TikTok in late August 2026, when users began editing the lip trill to continue throughout videos, adjusting its speed and pitch or gradually increasing its volume. Other edits paired the sound with footage of objects that produce similar sounds, such as helicopters.
