The teaser for the next big Godzilla movie, Godzilla Minus Zero, is here, and while most fans seem to agree that the movie looks good, some can't agree on one specific aspect of the teaser.

At one point, a pilot is seen navigating some rocks suspended in the air by a blue antigravity field. Now, a section of the franchise's fans are claiming that a monster known as "Gravity Anguirus" is to blame.

But who even is Gravity Anguirus, and will he actually appear in Godzilla Minus Zero? Here's what you need to know.

What Is The 'Gravity Anguirus' Meme?

Anguirus is a classic Godzilla monster, or kaiju, who first appeared in the 1955 film Godzilla Raids Again.

Depicted as a giant Ankylosaurus-like dinosaur, he appeared in several other Godzilla properties over the next few decades, but has fallen into relative obscurity in recent years. This has made Anguirus' fans hungry for him to appear in a new Godzilla movie.

Recently, the trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero dropped, including a scene where a pilot navigates through a field of floating rocks. While most viewers assume that King Ghidorah is behind the rocks due to his gravity beams, Anguirus fans are coping with memes that claim it's Gravity Anguirus making the rocks float.

Essentially, Gravity Anguirus is a new, revamped version of Anguirus with gravity powers. He has not been confirmed or even teased to be in the film, and it is very unlikely he'll actually appear to fight Godzilla.

The memes are just meant as a way for Anguirus fans to vent their frustrations, cope and do a little trolling, and they're spreading across social media fast.

How Is 'Gravity Anguirus' Used In Memes?

Many Gravity Anguirus memes hinge on pretending that Gravity Anguirus exists and was actually revealed in the Godzilla Minus Zero teaser. Some are even claiming that the footage of Godzilla emerging from the sea, seen in the teaser, is actually Gravity Anguirus.

Gravity Anguirus has also become a huge subject of fan art among Godzilla fans. Some are drawing actual concept artwork for the monster, while others are imagining silly, cartoony versions of him showcasing his gravity powers.
