One of the most popular prank YouTubers of all time has landed himself in hot water after launching an opossum from a catapult in a highly controversial viral video.

The YouTuber is Ross Creations (RossCreations), and according to reports, he's now being investigated for the recent "prank" video that many of his fans think went too far.

So, who exactly is Ross Creations, and why are people so mad about the opossum launcher video? Here's what you need to know about the viral controversy surrounding the incident.

@krabbykat

I have a really soft spot for opossums. This sweet mom had her babies in my garage, and when I realized they were still inside, I opened the vent and watched her carefully gather each one onto her back. They’re gentle, devoted creatures just trying to exist.

Who Is RossCreations And What Is The 'Opossum Launcher' Controversy?

Ross Creations, real name Charles Ross, is a largely well-liked YouTube prankster based in Florida with over 5 million subscribers on his main channel. Ross is known for both his vlog and prank content, which he has been posting for years.

Online, Ross is often celebrated for doing real and mostly harmless pranks, with the victims of the pranks often finding the jokes funny after the reveal.

At the end of November 2025, Ross uploaded a video on Instagram in which he lures an opossum into a catapult or slingshot-like trap and then launches the animal into the air. The opossum is seen falling to the ground from the air and hobbling off after it lands, Ross commenting, "He just walks away. Oh, man."

How Are People Reacting To The 'Opossum Launcher' Controversy?

While the opossum launcher video gained over 30,000 likes in just over a week, it also sparked a lot of backlash as it spread online.

Various commenters, including many who claim to be longtime fans, were quick to accuse Charles Ross of animal abuse and write that the video was "not it."

Ross's comment about the opossum walking away was also criticized by some, who claimed that even if the opossum didn't die right away, it was probably internally injured and would die later or suffer serious injuries.

Now, TMZ has reported that the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is working with the Sarasota County State Attorney’s Office on investigating Ross over the video.

While some have called for a statement from Ross, he has not yet made one, and the video remains up on his Instagram page as of December 10th, 2025.
