Why Is TikToker 'Hannah Brown' Losing Followers? The 'Charlie Kirk Memorial Vigil Controversy' Explained
There have been a lot of opinions about the Charlie Kirk shooting spreading online lately, and now, a TikToker who was on her way to a million followers is being canceled for attending his memorial.
Her name is Hannah Brown, and while she's most well-known for her comedy skits about Karens and being a waitress, she's now defending herself for attending the vigil as she receives widespread backlash across social media.
So, how exactly did Hannah Brown respond after being called out, and what are people saying about her? Here's what you need to know about the controversy.
What Is The 'Hannah Brown, Charlie Kirk' Memorial Controversy?
Hannah Brown is a TikTok comedian who had over 900,000 followers at the beginning of September 2025. She's mostly known for her comedy skits about being a restaurant waitress and dealing with customers, some of which have tens of millions of views.
However, on September 22nd, 2025, TikToker @bradleychicago posted an image of Brown attending Charlie Kirk's memorial vigil that caused some people to raise their eyebrows.
For those who don't know, Charlie Kirk is a conservative political commentator who was recently assassinated during an event at Utah Valley University.
In her response to the callouts, Brown posted a video insisting she is not a conservative or MAGA supporter and that she and Kirk disagree on many things, but that she does not support gun violence.
She then calls those celebrating Kirk's death out for being hypocritical, saying, "If you are truly against gun violence, you cannot celebrate when someone you don't like gets shot. You are a hypocrite."
Brown went on to encourage those who celebrate Kirk's death to unfollow her and showed sympathy for Kirk's family. She says that she went to the memorial to pay her respects for a "human who died" and that she'd rather have zero followers than thousands of followers who celebrate the death of a man who "just wanted to speak."
The video gained over 8 million views and inspired a wave of reactions shortly after as it spread online.

What Are Some More 'Hannah Brown' Reactions?
@user130628124 @Hannah Brown Where were you at the memorials for the thousands of children slaughtered in their classrooms? Silent. Absent. But you made sure to show up for him. Don’t kid yourself--you made a political statement the moment you walked through those doors. He said the deaths of those children were worth it to keep gun laws untouched, and you stood there honoring him anyway. That’s not neutrality, that’s alignment. You can’t cozy up at the funeral of a racist, sexist pig and then claim you don’t share in it. #hannahbrown #hannahbrownapology #fyp ♬ original sound – user13062812
@thelifeofc__ ETA: there’s rumors this was a local memorial, not the one in AZ so maybe she didn’t drive 13 hours. but personally, i wouldn’t drive 13 minutes to attend a memorial for a b!got unless i was one, too 🤷🏻♀️ #hannahbrown ♬ original sound – C
@gmarinowriting If this is the only time you are seen caring… it sends a political statement whether you want it to or not. ESPECIALLY when this was a MAGA rally disguised as a "memorial". #hannahbrown ♬ original sound – G Marino | Writer
