A meme posted by Santy Sharma, an Indian rapper and content creator, has gone viral online in the wake of the new foldable iPhone and its shocking price tag.

The image shows Sharma holding the recently unveiled iPhone Duo, but it also shows a big scar on his stomach, as if Sharma’s kidney had been removed and he had sold it to afford the expensive phone.

On September 9th, Apple announced the iPhone Duo at the Apple Event held at the company’s headquarters in California. The device is the first foldable smartphone that the company has produced, and it is scheduled to be released on October 23rd.

However, as is common with new Apple products, the device is also very expensive. In India, it is valued at roughly 300,000 Indian Rupees, which is equivalent to around $3,100. A device that is sold at such a high price often sparks jokes about how expensive it is, and that’s where Sharma comes in.

Sharma is a rapper from the city of Ratlam in central India. He has released one album, titled Reborn, in 2025. Aside from his music career, he is also a social media content creator and well-known among various online circles, especially among Indian internet users.

A few days after the iPhone Duo was announced and it sparked widespread discussions online, Sharma took to Instagram and posted an AI-generated image of himself holding the smartphone, with his stomach showing a big scar.

The post makes use of the common saying of hypothetically selling your kidney to afford certain expensive items, such as the iPhone Duo.

With it, Sharma is essentially saying that the only way he (and countless others) could afford the costly smartphone would be to do something like selling his kidney.

"iPhone Duo itna mehenga hai ki mene socha!" Sharma wrote in the caption, which translates to "iPhone Duo is so expensive I thought!" and then clarified that the post was "Just a sarcastic take on the crazy price tag — AI-generated, purely for fun!"
