In the age of lots of fake news, it might be time that we declare satire an official language because many are still finding it difficult to decipher. While The Onion has been around for over 30 years, it appears many people remain unfamiliar with it and often accept their headlines to be true.

But then again, you're reading this on Know Your Meme, so clearly you have the media skills to understand what good entertainment looks like (cue the laugh track).

But while we're joking yet serious about world news, The Onion is totally ironic. None of its articles are real, and yet it's unbelievable how many people didn't realize this when they reblogged or commented on an article by the site. They really should have known better, and yet some people missed the memo that fake news that's proudly fake is out there too.
