It should come as no surprise that corporations would try to take advantage of people on a daily basis. Most of it's legal, but just barely. It's not really ethical, though. They can create 404 errors to prevent you from unsubscribing, for example.

It's super annoying when you think you're in control of your own decisions, only to discover you're not even close, and you've been manipulated by some really rich CEO all this time. What's shocking is how often companies do it and still successfully get away with it.
