While the world may be full of mysteries, sometimes there are some things that are still a little farfetched. Sure, there are plenty of unexplainable phenomena and strange situations that occur every single day, but it is quite easy to tell when someone is definitely lying about the tale they are telling. People lie online a lot, all the time actually. Surely there are people out there who get away with it, but so many people do it so badly. Sometimes they're lying about a miraculous event, or sometimes about how smart their child is. Why do they do it? Maybe for the clout? Maybe to spread some sort of message? Who knows.

The only thing that is known for certain is that it is rather embarrassing. Reddit's subreddit /r/thatHappened features these stories that are so unbelievably easy to tell that they are fake. None of these things happened. Guaranteed. Here are just 14 people lying online and doing it poorly, for some reason.
