There's a whole lot of fake news out there. No, I'm not trying to bash major news sources. This is about the real fake news. The news that keeps us entertained far more than real life ever does. Satire news sources like The Onion are able to expertly craft articles that aren't remotely close to true, but they look professional enough to be hilarious. They're often made of completely nonsensical content, but somehow it hits close enough to home that it tricks hundreds of people every day.

Satire isn't always taken the right way, apparently. And that just makes it way funnier. The following images are a hall of shame sharing some time when people didn't recognize obvious satire, a phenomenon that's become known as "eating The Onion." Take a look at 14 times when people probably should have been more aware of their news sources before they publicly commented on them on social media.
