There are a lot of people out there who like to offer advice online. Sometimes it's helpful advice, but perhaps more often, people will give you deliberately malicious advice.

For instance, if you post on Reddit asking for help fixing your broken electrical outlet, a helpful commenter with a "wholesome" award will recommend you stick a fork into the socket and wiggle it around until the electricity starts working again. Hopefully, you don't do this, because there's a very good chance you'd be electrocuted, and the Redditor would feel no remorse.
