15 'LinkedIn Lunatics' Sharing Their Unhinged Takes Online

Maybe it comes as no surprise to some, but the people on LinkedIn are nothing short of insane. LinkedIn is meant to be a site for professionals. Its purpose was to allow professionals to connect and expand on who they know. It was also meant for companies to make exciting announcements about their businesses in professional ways. What it has become is something totally different.

Now it is riddled with those toxic 'hustle culture' lifestyle dudes who just want to spread their insane agenda to the world. It is full of entrepreneurs who think they know everything and people who think work should be 24/7, and they take the phrase "no days off" too seriously. That's why there is /r/LinkedInLunatics. This subreddit is for Reddit users to expose all of the LinkedIn lunatics that exist on that site. It is full of them being totally delusional. Here are just 15 of those people and their strange stories and hot takes.

Just some advice

If it wasn't made I would disqualify them immediately. A messy bed is the sign of a messy house and a messy house is not the type of culture that we are trying to build at Hover However, if the bed was made and they had a duvet with a duvet cover, I would hire them on the spot with a $10,000 bonus. That is the type of preparation and personality we want to hire. Hiring has evolved, and now some candidates use Al to make their bed, so I can no longer use that strategy. Self explanatory

At our intern orientation, I got an interesting question: + Follow "Private equity firms have a bad reputation for buying companies, stripping them down and firing everyone. Our mission at Aux Insights is to create more value by helping businesses grow. How do you balance that with PE's slash-and- burn approach?" My answer: While there may be a few “bad actor" PE firms, this narrative is mostly driven by the media. Most PE firms are looking to add value and they know you can't "Cut your way to growth." But truthfully, companies get bloated. They have 100 people doing the job that 25 people can do. PE firms aren't "churning and burning." Reducing headcount IS a form of value creation. They reduce costs or reallocate expenses. That creates value. Such a good question. I love intern season! 15

Charna Ambers • 1st Upscale branding + websites for healthcare + luxury | Influenc... 1h My 2 sons were in a serious car accident last week. Upon seeing the smashed van, EMS thought everyone was dead. They were on their way home from their out-of-town school with 7 other boys. Thank G-d, with *many* miracles, all 9 boys walked out with barely a scratch. Sometimes we're heading full speed in the wrong direction. We're blinded to see it. It takes a full stop to regroup, take a step back, and reevaluate where we're headed. A company moving millions of dollars can't afford to look cheap. People get stuck on extras, losing focus on what actually influences decisions. Fancy booths or brand books don't influence people to buy. A premium brand and website do.

Jason Feifer in ⚫ 2nd + Follow Editor in Chief of Entrepreneur Magazine Subscribe to newsletter 1d → My most disastrous job interview: The boss told me: "I've asked some former colleagues about you." "What did they say?" I asked. "Everyone says you're smart and talented, but they also said, 'It's always the Jason Feifer Show with him.' What do you make of that?" I felt a jolt of adrenaline, like I needed to run out of the room. He then explained that, to some of my past colleagues, I was too *out there*. I did things to promote myself, instead of only promoting the brand. I decided: I will not be shamed by this. I said yes, I get attention. And I benefit from that - but so do my employers. People connect with people, not with brands, and that makes me an asset. If you disagree, I told him, then I respect that - - but I am not the person for you. I didn't get the job. Did self-promotion lose me that job? Maybe. But that job wouldn't have helped me grow. It would have made me feel stuck - so I'm better off without it. Bozoma Saint John said it best: "One of the most undervalued ideas is: When you are better known for the things you do, your value goes up." Never apologize for telling people how awesome you are. Never apologize for being out there. If you don't tell them, nobody else will. Here's how to do it right - my FOUR RULES of self-promotion: https://lnkd.in/ejKgJ5Se If this post was helpful, please share it and follow Jason Feifer for more. 200
