Some people are just really bad at making stories up, and those people need to stop trying because it's just getting worse and worse. It's so obvious when people are lying on the internet for attention. People will lie about anything at all just for a little bit of clout or some virtual pats on the back, something to make them feel better. If you're going to lie about something online, at least don't make it so unbelievable that people actually don't believe it.

Basically, avoid being posted to Reddit's /r/thathappened. This is a sarcastically titled subreddit, because the stories in there absolutely did not happen. There is just no way they did, or ever could. It's really cringeworthy seeing someone try to pass something off as real when it is just so farfetched. Whether it's some genius child, some miraculous event in public, or a thinly veiled attempt to get someone to side with their beliefs.
