It's been a sad day of news for music fans around the globe, especially heavy metal fans. Earlier this afternoon, it was announced that Ozzy Osbourne, legendary metal singer and Black Sabbath singer, died at 76 after years of health issues, including his battle with Parkinson's disease.

His family announced his passing in a statement that read:

It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time.

The news comes just two weeks after Ozzy reunited with his Black Sabbath bandmates, including Tony Iommi, Geezer Butler and Bill Ward, on July 5th. The "Back to the Beginning" concert was held in Birmingham, England, where Ozzy grew up, and was attended by over 45,000 fans.
