15 People Exposing Their Insanity On LinkedIn

As it turns out, insane people can be found just about anywhere on the Internet, which isn't really all that shocking. Though there are some sites that harbour them more frequently, such as Facebook, there is one site that no one would really expect to be filled with crazy people, because it's made for professionals. Surprisingly, though, LinkedIn is full of out-of-touch, work-crazy people who think everyone should sign their lives away to the grind.

It's so obvious how entitled and privileged these people are just by seeing their posts, spewing pure nonsense into the world with their wild takes and crazy work habits and very unbelievable "inspirational" stories. There are so many of them that there is a community on Reddit dedicated to sharing and exposing them all for the things they say and do. Here are 15 certified LinkedIn lunatics doing some very questionable things in the name of business and entrepreneurship.

That definitely happened

Vivian U. (She/Her) • 3rd+ Staff Product Designer at Instawork 2d. It finally happened. My 6-year-old was called the word "bossy." It happened when I was getting her ready for the day. She said, "Mommy, you're being bossy." I calmly replied, "I'm not being bossy, I'm giving you instructions." Then we talked about how it had never been in her vocabulary, and I asked if someone called her that. After a few minutes, with tears in her eyes, she shared how her classmates called her "bossy" when she was trying to remind them of the teacher's instructions. I said, "I'm sorry they called you that. You were trying to be helpful, and those are actually skills of a CEO." "What is a CEO?" she asked. "It's the boss of a big company," I replied. With bright eyes and a huge smile she exclaimed, "A boss?!!!" During our commute, she sang over and over again, "I'm gonna be a B-O-S-S." Folks, I think she found her calling. #leanin #changethenarrative Takeaways What is a CEO? How can be

Andrew Tobin - 2nd Award Losing Creative Director - at theandrewtobin.com 3h ✓ Following My 4-year old froze on stage at her first ballet recital. "I failed." she told me after the show. I looked at her heartbroken, with tears in my eyes. "No. I failed you. But today, you've given me more than I could've ever asked for. You gave me a sad kid story to post on LinkedIn." "Link what?" she asked. "LinkedIn." I replied. "A place where depressing personal anecdotes involving imaginary children are posted and mined for engagements in order to boost one's own professional identity." She looked at me confused. "But dad-" I cut her off. "Shhhh."

I replied. "Not at all. If you give me money, I lose my drive. I go soft. I might as well roll over and die. If I give you money, it makes me hungry. I have to grind to make more. I have to hustle. The only thing 'insane' is that more people don't think like me."

Good for him I guess

POW Erin Sprague (She/Her) • 1st CEO POW | Outdoor & Climate 45m Edited ③ This week, I led my first Board meeting as CEO at Protect Our Winters. I knew one of our Board Members Conrad Anker would be climbing in the Khumbu region of Nepal near Mt Everest, and time zones would be challenging. Here's Conrad dialing into our meeting at 2am local time. He found internet but not heat in -17C temperatures, so just bundled up in his The North Face mountaineering gear for a three-hour discussion. We noticed part way through the Zoom that his water bottle had frozen solid. This is the level of commitment I see from our POW team every day on climate action. Athletic excellence is the perfect mindset and metaphor for this challenge. Like Conrad, we are showing up in all conditions for the climb ahead. 원

+ Follow Harnessing the Power of Al to Build Stronger Communities 2d.→ I asked my friend's son what he wanted to be when he grows up. He said he wanted to be Prime Minister some day. Both of his parents, liberal leftists, were standing there, so I asked him, 'If you were Prime Minister, what would be the first thing you would do?' He replied, 'I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people.' His parents beamed with pride. 'Wow...what a worthy goal.' I told him. 'But you don't have to wait until you're Prime Minister to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you Rs.500. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where the homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the same 500 rupee note for food and new set of clothes .' He thought that over for a few seconds, then he looked me straight in the eyes and asked, ' Why doesn't the homeless guy come over and do the work, and you can just pay him Rs.500?' I said, 'Welcome to the Rightist fold.'

Don't worry, she knows

Jessica Grossman, M.A. • 2nd the fun boss @ In Social 6d. + Follow Hello from my yearly vacation, where, as a business owner and CEO, I allow myself to... only work 1 hour a day! I know, I know- I should do a better job signing out. I know, I know- I should make sure I prioritize my own mental health. And I know, I know that spending time on my laptop instead of enjoying the moments is no way to go through life... But... In Social is my baby and I can't even fathom not thinking about my company for one minute. How do other founders and business owners do it?? I'm lucky enough to have an amazing team full of experts who are keeping the agency running (and thriving!) and I couldn't be taking (or trying to take) vacation without them. I appreciate each and every one of them. Even when they yell at me to get off Slack Anyway, I'll try *not* to be working for the next 10 days, so see y'all when I'm back! (And seriously, tips on letting go? Help!)
