Not being in on a joke told amongst a group is always an embarrassing time, but when it happens in person it usually blows over quickly and no one remembers. As with anything, though, the internet is more permanent than that, so the embarrassment lasts forever. There are many documented cases of people missing a joke online, but what makes it worse is that the joke is usually so obvious, that missing it makes it even worse. Sometimes the person even tries to sound smart by correcting the joke, which is just cringe all around.

Reddit's /r/woooosh is the subreddit for collecting all of these terrible moments of folks online being totally oblivious to the joke that's right in front of them. It's called "woooosh" because that's the sound of the joke when it flies over someone's head, of course. Here are 15 moments of users missing obviously sarcastic jokes that are just a little hard to look at.
