It's unsurprising that many will often lie on their social media accounts. It's most often done for attention. Other times, it's done for boredom. Even more often, it's used to start a fight with someone over some nonsense that they use to back up their own argument. Rarely, it works. However, people usually just let them win, or at least let them feel like they've won. But if you're lucky enough, a brave soldier powers through and tears down their argument and self-esteem through sheer force of will alone, guided by logic on their side.

It's not too difficult to prove just how much the original poster is lying, often using things like facts, statistics or receipts to make the real truth very obvious and shame the other person at the same time. Honestly, it's kind of impressive, and we wish we had the motivation these fact-checkers have.
