For some folks, lying on the internet is a bit of a hobby. It's a pastime that brings some people much joy and pleasure — for whatever reason. Some people can get away with lying on the web.

Surely there are people out there living different lives online, while others are just terrible at it and should stop immediately. Being caught telling fibs online is so much worse than the act of lying in the first place. There's no way these people actually think everyone is going to believe their miraculous, insane, blatantly unbelievable stories.

On Reddit's community /r/thatHappened, people expose the obvious liars online for all to see. It is an embarrassing and cringe subreddit to scroll on, but entertaining nonetheless. Here are 15 very fake-sounding stories people are hoping everyone will believe.
