Not everything in life is going to work out quite right, and that is okay, but it can also be really disappointing. People get their hopes up for all kinds of reasons, especially when making purchases. One thing everyone needs to keep in mind though is that the photo on the box or in the ad rarely is what is actually inside or is what you are going to receive. This happens a lot with food, everyone has ordered a new fast food menu item or bought that little treat at the store only to get it and realize it's not what it was made out to be.

Those people in charge of marketing are really good because no matter how many times it happens, we all still fall for it. It happens to everyone, there is proof of that in Reddit's very disappointing subreddit /r/expectationvsreality. This subreddit, as it is suggested, is full of all of those moments where people's expectations did not meet the reality of the situation. There are few successes in there, but they are few and far between. Here are 16 total disasters from people who had high hopes, only to be let down.
