Everyone has lied once or twice in their lives, many of those lies probably were told as kids, but adults lie too. Some lies are worse than others, and honestly, some are kind of necessary. If someone is going to lie about something though they better make sure they're making it believable. There is nothing more embarrassing than being caught in a lie because of how bad the lie was. That's just devastating. There are so many people who can't lie to save themselves, and they're out there lying on the internet in the most insane ways imaginable. People like to tell stories for a variety of reasons.

Maybe they are trying to talk themselves up, maybe they're trying to push an agenda, or maybe, probably usually, they're looking for attention. Whatever it may be, seeing someone tell a story that is so obviously fake is cringeworthy. Here are 16 badly told stories from Reddit's sarcastically titled /r/thatHappened that will cause some major eye rolls.
