Not all of us are really smart. In fact, many of us aren't. And that's nothing to be ashamed of. But being cringe is, and few things are more cringeworthy than people who believe they're so profoundly intelligent that they have to share it with everyone else online, especially because we didn't ask. Thanks to Reddit, we can preserve these moments forever.

Reddit's /r/iamverysmart is full of people who tried to brag about their intelligence despite no one asking for it, and the results are embarrassing. These people believe the rest of us are beneath them, often because we dared to make a joke (no, not offensive jokes, just jokes that they believe are not highly intelligent enough to warrant their amusement). But thankfully, these people are such incredible examples of peak human intelligence that they can explain to the rest of us how we're dumb in comparison, usually while making a bunch of typos and adding in some obvious lies. These are some of the funniest times people were spotted in the act of trying way too hard to look smart.
