Many of Disney's latest additions to the Star Wars franchise, like The Acolyte, have not been popular, despite much of the hype they were building up towards its release, which has unfortunately been met with some pretty mixed reactions. Each new Disney-owned SW release seemingly comes with some new and uncalled-for writing decisions that either change the canon entirely or just seem to force a weird modern agenda that many fans were afraid of.

Perhaps the most recent viral example was the "Force Baby Controversy" in episode three of The Acolyte, which has stirred up plenty of reactions online, including memes.

Reddit's /r/starwarsmemes has had a field day with Disney's many flops, tearing the new shows and movies apart with snarky tweets, memes and posts all highlighting the downfall of the franchise.

Each meme is a reminder that for many fans, Star Wars just isn't as good as it used to be. For others, it just further confirms the suspicions that maybe the franchise was never that great to begin with, but rather it was the nostalgia of the past that made it much better in our heads.
