Some of history's greatest geniuses in the arts and design go unrecognized in their own time, and there may be a reason for that. On Reddit's /r/atbge, which stands for awful taste but great execution, posters share examples of exceedingly well-made and crafted objects which, clearly, were created by a demented person.

These are items which clearly were worked over for hours if not days, but the initial conception is something that almost anybody would find bizarre and frightening. Maybe we're just behind the curve, though. It could be that someday, one of the posts below will be hailed as a great work of art which the world was simply not prepared for.
