There is a surprising number of parents who love to make up stories about their kids on social media. We get it, most parents are proud of their kids. But it makes a lot more sense to share a story that actually happened than something completely imaginary, especially when it's painfully obvious that no child has ever said this, ever. Often, the parents will claim their kid said something far more insightful than any adult around them, and that they were then elected the new teacher of their Pre-K class.

It's hard to imagine why some people do this, but one might guess it has something to do with a political agenda they're trying to push, a desire to outcompete other parents or simply to gain some attention online. It's likely their kid hasn't had any attention in a while, either, because their imaginary internet clone is what their parents are focused on. And still, no one's buying these 20 stories.
