The lovable Xiaopang may be the hero we didn't know we needed. This dog from China, who is unusually orange, loves roast duck. However, his mother does not approve of him eating roast duck.

A grave act of injustice and betrayal was caught on camera and posted to TikTok by one of Xiaopang's owners. A human holding a recording smartphone in one hand fed him roast duck, and then called mother into the room, saying Xiaopang was eating the duck secretly and was poorly trained.

The angry dog skulked off to his room, where he growled at the hand that fed him and betrayed him until he was appropriately bribed with banknotes showing the face of Chairman Mao.

Online discourse followed, in which users discussed whether or not Xiaopang was treated poorly by his owners or was specifically trained to perform these comedy skits.

It is rare for a Chinese meme to jump the Great Firewall, but when they do, as has been the case with Xiaopang, they show remarkable levels of dankness and joy, proving that meme culture is truly international and gets better the more cultures contribute to it.
