Context is what makes things understandable. Without the proper context behind an image, something can come off as totally different than how it was supposed to. Something normal, or even supposedly cute, can become pretty eerie and creepy when seen in the wrong context.

Take old dolls, for example, in their time, they were probably beloved kids' toys, but now most old porcelain dolls are seen as scary and even cursed. It's strange how our opinion or view of something can change so drastically just due to the circumstances it is seen in.

This is what happened in Reddit's "Oddly Terrifying." This is a creepy subreddit full of things that, for one reason or another, are terrifying in a strange way. Usually, they are natural things or things that are pretty normal, but in this subreddit, they are odd. It is an interesting subreddit full of oddities and bits of world history.

Here are 22 of those creepy yet cool photos from around the world and the web.
