Some people take lying online to a whole new level. Some people treat lying like a new hobby. In general, it is best not to tell lies because being caught in a lie is devastating and embarrassing. For those who are going to tell lies, though, at least make sure it's believable. There is nothing worse than telling a lie that's so bad that no one believes it because of how bad it is. Whether it's over-exaggerated, impossible, or just … unbelievable, it's always pretty easy to tell when someone is making something up.
It's hard to say why some people choose to tell insane lies on the Internet. It could be to make themselves look or feel better, it could be to push an agenda of some sort, or it could purely be for the attention it gets them. In all honesty, it's more than likely the last option.
