25 Adults Who Tried To Connect With Kids Through Memes
It is not easy to keep the attention of a young teenager or a kid in this day and age. Pairing the short attention spans of children with all of the distracting technology out there makes it hard for teachers to work and for parents to survive. Teachers need to work harder to keep kids engaged with learning, they need to speak to them on a personal level, and somehow become more interesting than their cellphones.
Teachers have struggled with kids and distractions for years now. Kids don't think teachers are cool, and even the iconic 'cool teachers' have students they struggle with. Some teachers and other professionals have developed an "if you can't beat them, join them" mentality, but it might not be going the way they planned. Internet slang and trends have started to appear in school hallways and classrooms, but it might just be cringeworthy, rather than effective.
Here, we have collected 25 images of times teachers used memes and other forms of online and Internet culture in their classrooms to try and grab and maintain kids' attention. Did they work?
