Every artist must choose their canvas: for some it's paper, others prefer the screen of their tablet. Many pick something more unusual, putting their creations onto chalkboard, metal, glass, or even skin. But there's one type of artist whose choice of canvas has often been at odds with the general public: the street artist.
The use of public and private property for self-expression has long been a subject of debate. While society has grown more receptive to those who put their art on walls over the past few decades, there are still many who want nothing to do with it. In the end, though, it often comes down to how good the art really is, and we think that these amazing artworks would not have met any objections even from the staunchest sceptics.
