A lot of people lie on the Internet for many different reasons. Sometimes the lies are small and fly under the radar and don't really matter at all. Other times the lies are big, people make up whole new lives and personalities. Or some people like to lie about other people which is just rude. Regardless, the biggest thing to remember when it comes to constructing a lie is to not get caught. That's like, the whole point. It's surprising the amount of people out there who are just terrible at lying yet do it a lot.

Digital footprints are very real, especially on sites like Reddit where there is post history for every user. One wrong move or one small thing out of line and some online super sleuth will figure it out and won't hold back when calling the liars out. There is a subreddit called /r/QuitYourBullsh*t, which features many of these terribly shameful moments of people getting called out for their lies. Here are 25 various, silly lies from people all over and their corresponding callouts.
