The future is here… for now, anyway. In this day and age, things are rapidly changing. Technology is advancing at alarming speeds. Things exist now that people could have never even imagined 20 or 30 years ago. It's pretty amazing and kind of terrifying at the same time. It also makes it kind of difficult to even think about what the future from now on will look like. With the development of artificial intelligence. it kind of feels like just about anything is possible.

Back in the day, though, the things people thought would be developed in the future were kind of crazy and super interesting to see. Some of the classic things everyone thought would exist by now are flying cars, being able to live on other planets, and things like virtual reality. VR is pretty widely used now, but the other things… the world isn't there yet.

There are so many drawings and images from the past depicting ideas that people had for the future. Some are pretty outlandish and others are kind of true. Here are 25 images from people of the past who had big ideas for the future.
