The Lord of the Rings is still one of the most popular trilogies of all time, and it makes sense considering how well they've held up.

The beloved series follows Frodo, his sidekick Sam (who actually does literally all of the work, while Frodo just walks) and the Fellowship as they journey to Mount Doom to destroy the One Ring, which would have been so much faster if they'd just taken the eagles. Seriously, we wouldn't have needed all three movies.

It's the fantasy series that inspired all future fantasy works, and without it, our pop culture references and online jokes would be so much less entertaining, and we'd be missing out on some dumb jokes about second breakfast that somehow never get old.
