There are plenty of jobs these days that did not exist back in the day. Of course, all of the technology-related jobs, and jobs involving coding, computers, etcetera, did not exist in the 1900s. There are some careers, though, that were available in those years, and still are now. People have been working in offices for longer than some might realize. Office work back then could have involved accounting, printing, school administrating, and much more. It's interesting to see how offices have changed over the decades.
Back then, everything was as far from paperless as it could get. Everything had to be handwritten, hand drawn, and calculated on paper. It made things much more difficult and lengthy, but there is something nostalgic about offices in the past. The decor was different, and so was the atmosphere.
Here we have collected 25 images of what it looked like to be an office worker throughout the 1900s, from the very early years into the 1970s. Enjoy looking back on office work in the past and observe how much has changed.
