Lying is generally always frowned upon. Everyone knows that telling the truth is usually the best thing to do. Sometimes in life, a lie is necessary, but most of the time telling the truth is the better option. Some people treat lying like a hobby, it's strange. Some people make up the most insane stories about their lives that are just so unbelievable it's impossible that anyone would think they're true.

Why do they do this? It's hard to say. Some people do it to push some agenda they have, some people do it to make themselves look better, but mostly people do it for attention.
