25 People Who Should Just Stay Out Of The Kitchen

Cooking is not a skill everyone has, it isn't easy. It also comes at different levels, there are some great cooks out there, some mediocre cooks, and some people who barely scrape by. One thing that helps many folks though is online recipes. The people who take the time out of their days to create, write, and post recipes are truly saviors to young people, students, people who need a family dinner, and just about everyone in between.

One important aspect of these recipes though is the reviews, because you gotta know if it's good. When looking through recipe reviews, it becomes clear who should not be in the kitchen at all, let alone reviewing recipes. From dumb alterations to people admitting to leaving out entire steps, it's no wonder their food came out wrong. Here are 25 recipe reviews where bad cooks totally exposed themselves as being just that, terrible cooks.

Have you EVER followed a recipe before?

Please clarify. REPLY Lindsey says: April 2, 2024 at 10:41 am Tsp teaspoon Tbsp Tablespoon So in this recipe it would be teaspoon. Hope that helps. REPLY

Crispy police over here

25w ago The word you were looking for is "CRUNCHY". This technique makes a crunchy potato, not a crispy potato. To help you out, a Cheeto is crunchy, a Cheeto puff is crispy. And if you want a potato that's actually crispy, just look up a recipe for "crispy potatoes using baking soda" They are absolutely amazing. Reply 18 35 ↑ 3d ago We know what was meant !!!! This was for garlic chicken

9:17 pm Sat 6 Apr 89% david.rachel2017SCxe38pj 2 weeks ago I'm vegetarian and I don't like garlic as it can wreak havoc on my guts. So I just made it without the chicken and garlic and it was delicious, nice accompanied with a pack of salt and vinegar crisps Reply markpr 1 3 days ago So you had cheese sauce and a bag of crisps? Not exactly a balanced meal and hardly worthy of a comment on the recipe.

Bread in 30 minutes

13:10 = bbcgoodfood.com goodFOOD jtrichards92FSAalm 10 5 months ago = Done 1Q "30 mins prep" Expect to wait over 2 hours for the to rise along with the 30 mins if prep. I was halfway through the recipe before realising the hugely inaccurate recipe time. If I could give 0 stars I would. Reply blackbird 17 3 months ago Surely you didn't expect to make bread in 30 minutes ?

Lets do some critical thinking here

Allrecipes Member ★✰✰✰✰ 08/02/2023 י. I made these cookies today with my son and they were terrible! We subbed margarine for butter, which, admittedly, did not help, but followed every other direction to the letter. I have never had cookies turn out so bad. They tasted like a mix between cake and muffins. Not light and crispy, but puffy and dry. We even used a slightly less amount of flour than called for. I made the rest of the batch into muffins (adding blueberries), and they honestly turned out better than the cookies. Ugh! So bad Helpful (0) Ad

Props for being self-aware

I know everyone will scream "NOOO" but, with both whipping cream and butter, there is too much fat for us and I have to change something. I am considering substituting 1 cup coffee creamer for the 3/4 cup whipping cream + 1/4 cup water. The sauce will probably be too thin, is corn starch the best thickening agent? Hmmm…

OrangePlane 3y ago I made this recipe today and it was good. I love artichoke and spinach. However I did not have any mozzarella or parmesan cheese....so I substituted with shredded Mexican Four Cheese (Kraft). I will say that it could use a lift with some enhanced flavors....Any recommendations please pass them on....but I will make this again. Thanks! Reply 16

Use some common sense

SL Kathi ✰✰✰✰ 08/07/2023 Mine didn't come out at all, sadly. I had to use oat milk since that's all I had on hand and I don't know if it was self rising flour or not. I was so bummed it didn't work out. I used the rest of my Georgia peaches that I had bought.Oh well, next time I'll have to follow the recipe more to the letter so to speak and hope it works out.

I think not

Ann says October 31, 2022 at 12:50 am Here's what I'm thinking: I don't like maple syrup so will omit that, will add sage, m/b some oregano, cumin, red pepper flakes, shiitake mushroom powder, sub Worcestershire sauce (less. sodium) for the soy sauce, no-salt- added stock, and use masa harina instead of oatmeal. I'm also thinking about adding an egg as a binder. What do you think? Thanks! Reply

Ashley March 17, 2024 at 9:31 pm I find white chocolate ganache to be too sweet. Would I get the same result if I replaced the butter with sour cream and added a tiny bit of ACV? I'm sure the taste will be great, but wondering about the consistency. REPLY

Two found this helpful?

Nixza Hernandez 12/04/2014 I have never embarked on the task of making "authentic" Mexican tamales. Although I am Puerto Rican, I want to try my hand at making these to expand my culinary skills and experiences. Based on other comments here, I will give this, untried-as-of-yet recipe a 4-star rating. The comments seem quite reasonable and since I've known my way about a kitchen, seem perfectly valid and justifiable at a 4-star rating at this time. I hope to someday soon, add my photos of my first tamale attempt. Wish me luck! Helpful (2)
