25 'Pro Tips' That Certainly Won't Improve Your Life

There's a lot of bad advice out there. People can say pretty much whatever they want online, and since this power regularly goes unchecked, they can give some really awful recommendations that could potentially ruin someone's life. For some good examples, you could check out the comments under pretty much any Reddit advice thread ever. It's strange to think that these people actually mean these things with genuine concern and arguably good intentions, even though the advice is just… awful.

At the same time, not all bad advice is shared with the best intentions. Sometimes, people come up with bad advice in order to create chaos. Sometimes, people fall for it, like in cases where people recommend someone microwave their phone to fix water damage. Other times, it's much more obvious satire.
