25 Self-Proclaimed Geniuses Being Extremely Cringeworthy

Some people are just way too smart for this world, and they like to make it known. Wanting to further your education and become smarter is nothing bad, it's a great thing to do. Intelligence becomes a problem when it is people's entire personality and they become so deluded that they believe they don't fit in because of how smart they are. These super smart people can be found online boasting about their new theories, about how they can't relate to normal, dumb people, or about how they are part of some elite group of self-proclaimed geniuses.

With them, it's all about IQ, comparing IQs is just second-nature to them. Are these people lying about how smart they are? Probably, to a degree. It's just so cringeworthy to see someone talk extensively about how insanely smart they are compared to everyone else. Reddit's /r/iamverysmart is a subreddit made for exposing and sharing these intelligent people for the unhinged things they say online. Have a look at these 25 people who just can't stop talking about themselves.

Well that's rude

Filler words are a statistically proven way that unintelligent humans speak. Cognitive and comprehension abilities in people are completely different and directly related to intelligence and articulation of communicating skills. People just choose to be compassionate and not consider others as "unintelligent". At least to their faces. Reply PS - Your grandparents are disappointed with you. Reply

So sad he lost it

I could have do that calculus at 11 years old (the simple rocket equation). Actually at 17 I have devised a formula to find out how much reacher or poorer a country is compared to oter countries or to themselves at one year before etc. Basically the formula was so complex, it could tell you the difference in inflation before even the central bank would come out with that information, but sadly I've lost the initial manuscript so I need to work it out and rediscover it again. 3h Like Reply Edited 18

High IQ video games

I'm going to say it! The reason this game isn't more popular is because... Discussion People are stupid. No, not the people who play this game. In fact, this game requires an IQ level that, quite frankly, the average FPS player does not possess. This game isn't just run around *pew-pew, get kill, win game. The Finals requires an insane amount of logic, tactics, ingenuity, and lastly mechanical skill. There are all sorts of gadget/specialization combos that require a creative minds as well as inventive tactics that constantly evolve. These tactics utilize various game mechanics and physics such as the flying goo platform (may potentially be a bug but requires an inventive mind and skill regardless to even discover/ implement this start in game). TLDR: The Finals requires a much higher IQ le than other FPS games and, quite honestly, m FPS players don't have the grit or determination to compete in this style; when they can just play other *pew-pew games.

Barely worth the read

It's pretty, but Al isn't really "Creating" this. To use a simplification, it's basically just displaying you a "typical" image of a desert with a night sky. It's learned what images of a desert typically look like, and what images of a pretty sky typically look like, and it's combining them in a way these images are typically combined. It's not creating anything, it's just blindly imitating what it's seen, with no understanding as to what or why ↑ 2 ⇓ Jul 8, 2024, 13:11 You mean Image-generating Als engage in the sophisticated process of sampling from the high-dimensional, non-linear manifold latent subspace, which encapsulates the intrinsic, multi-dimensional vectorial representations and structural dependencies of the visual data domain, thereby producing high-fidelity images that conform to the intricate patterns learned from the training dataset? ↑ 0 ↓

Splooges?

• 2h Well, I guess we all have our crosses to bear. I am condescending, others are helpless, anxiety ridden and constantly looking for external validation. (Not you, just a large amount of redditors...) An argument can be made for the value of having a certain amount of confidence in one's own opinions. Yeah.. I probably was a bit unnecessarily condescending. But in my doting years, I also believe that people are less self sufficient than they used to be, and social media is a major cause of that. Sometimes that opinion just splooges out of me. Annnnnnnnndd.. I'm spent. -1

We got the spelling bee champ over here

10 hours ago (edited) I will request you to look up what the definition of what a "dude" is before you recklessly fling verbal slang at a stranger like that. I was reading college level by the time I reached the second grade. On top of that, I was championing the spelling bee's as well. I know quite well what the definitions in the encyclopedias were long before even the Internet was even introduced to the masses. While I agree that democracy is the mechanism, you obviously need to revisit your grade school education and look up the fact that our founding fathers identified us as a "Republic". Show less Reply

Poor guy

$ r/askphilosophy u/. Is there a word for the kind of ennui that comes from intellectual loneliness? I am an educator. I characterize my interest in pedagogical theory and pedagogical practice as a means of applied philosophy. I am also a lifelong learner. As an educator and as a person who cares about the modes and applications of education, I learn a lot of stuff. I'm not going to sit here and talk about how smart I am, but I know a lot of stuff and think about a lot of stuff. I'm grappling with deep philosophical questions in the realm of existentialism and its related nihilism and absurdism. The simple barrier that exists between myself and others that must be overcome in order to actually go about addressing the idea or concern I'm interested in discussing basically feels so monumental as to be prohibitive. Even if I'm not alone I certainly feel alone. Because it simply requires too much rhetoric to get to the thing I'm actually grappling with. For example, going about discussing realism or anti-realism requires a certain laying of the ground work typically reserved for a lecture. Polite society tends to preclude these kinds of lectures in the pursuit of making friends or maintaining friends. And 99.99% of the time, most aren't down for that kind of thing as much as I am. And because I want to talk about these kinds of topics so much and most others don't I feel intellectually isolated. Does this have an actual term that I can use to characterize this feeling in my writing? 17 ♡ 18 Comments 12

They are the elite

Follow Most smart people in the upper middle class have no idea how much of a bubble they live in with regard to intelligence One night our friend group found a pirated Stanford-Binet test and did it ourselves and the dumbest guy in our group of 10 people was IQ 115 7:49 AM Dec 9, 2023 333.3K Views 88 tv 152 2.7K 979 S 8h My wife works in healthcare in a low-income area and frequently interacts with IQ 80 patients. How to get unmatched

What is your take on AGI and the singularity? Ummmm I don't know what that means lol Oh my bad, I should have given you more detail. AGI = artificial general intelligence. And the singularity is when it will surpass human intelligence with the ability to replicate/evolve. I thought you might have an interesting view. yesterday Well... Just goes to show you that being a software engineer does not necessarily indicate a high IQ or a well thought out world view I beg your pardon? Delivered

BUSINESSINSIDER.COM African elephants are evolving to not grow tusks because of poachers 8 Like Comment 2 Comments 2 Shares Share It's actually probably more genetics than true evolution. It reasons to guess that those that are killed were the elephants with huge tusk and those that didn't grow tusk were able to live and procreate, meaning that through genetics there are less elephants with huge tusk. It's not evolution but proof of how humans have in a way genetically altered them sadly. Like Reply 24m That literally is how evolution works. I can't even... Like Reply 1m

That right there, is why I left Reddit. What are they even trying to say?

Last time I went to the emergency room (2009?), I was asked, "On the scale from 1 to 10, how much pain are you in?" "Zero; I am not in any pain." I wondered whether they ask about 1..10 and not about 0..10 because too many patients don't understand the concept of zero.
