The internet is filled with lies, most social media has become rampant with all forms of misinformation that is unfortunately either incredibly problematic or just very annoying. This has become a problem that many people have been unable to erase, and it's doubtful that we'll ever be able to get rid of this problem completely, what with all the fact-checkers and tools to try and combat this war against misinformation, you'll always be able to spread fake news on the internet confidently.
Reddit's /r/thathappened is a perfect example of this mischievous act, a subreddit dedicated to all sorts of people doing their hardest to spread lies, and rumors and make up stories that make them look a lot better than they are. Anyone would kill for an ego boost, especially when it comes from strangers on the internet, and this subreddit is filled with a bunch of people who go the extra mile to make themselves the perfect role models of society.
