There is an interesting genre of memes that exist online that really only pertain to young teens and sometimes boomers. They are images that contain some sort of "deep" message along with a thought-provoking image that's meant to make people look inward. Everyone has seen them before, and most people have likely cringed at them before. These images, while they might appear inspirational, are really just shallow.

It's hard to say who is benefitting from these kinds of images and why they are intrigued by them. The messages they send tend to be pretty shallow and honestly kind of out-of-touch when looked at closer. They tend to be shared on places like Facebook especially but appear everywhere, even on YouTube shorts. While they might be cringeworthy, they're oddly entertaining, as well.
