Encyclopedias define thalassophobia as "the persistent and intense fear of deep bodies of water, such as the ocean, seas, or lakes". Many people experience it, some connecting it to the fear of the unknown, others to the fear of drowning or to the creatures that might be lurking in the deep.
While it's unlikely that you'll be making an unfortunate biological discovery while drifting in the middle of the ocean, what oceans do hide are hundreds of shipwrecks and other man-made objects that are buried in their depths. In this collection, we are diving into the dark, cold waters to see what lies hidden beneath.
