Corporations and their advertisers are desperate to connect with a young audience. The younger generations are chronically online, and they're pretty susceptible to the sponsored content they see online, but sometimes, if a company tries too hard, they can succeed in completely disgusting kids and teens. In doing so, they wind up making fools of themselves and alienating their entire young audience. The best way to ruin an advertisement is by adding a poorly-used meme.
