29 LinkedIn Lunatics Spouting Pure Nonsense

When thinking of social media sites, there is one main one that stands out as being professional. LinkedIn is a site that was made for working professionals to come together. People and businesses can make connections, post their successes, post job ads, and interact professionally. This is what the site was meant for, anyway. Over the years, something strange has happened to LinkedIn. Instead of many professionals, the site is filled with hustle culture individuals who think their lives are so much better than everyone else's because they work more.

There is no work-life balance with these folks; it's only work. They share these strange, definitely fake stories and post the most absurd life updates. It's truly an odd place over there these days. This is so apparent that there is a whole subreddit made for exposing these people. Reddit's /r/linkedinlunatics is a subreddit where people post the most insane posts from LinkedIn users they see. Here are just 29 of them and the wild things they say.

Drop your egg count

Hillel Wayne is at SREcon⚫ 3rd+ Formal Methods | Software Engineerin... 6d → + Follow My top advice to junior software engineers: Eat more eggs. When I was a junior engineer, my boss asked me, "Hillel, how many eggs have you eaten today?" I told him, "three." He said, "that's not enough eggs." And then he gave me four more eggs. I ate the eggs and eggshells and immediately got promoted to regular engineer. To become a senior engineer, I had to eat twelve eggs. To become a staff engineer, I had to eat twenty seven. Nowadays I won't even *consider* jobs where the engineering director can't eat sixty eggs at once. Got any more #tips for Junior engineers? Please share in the comments!

Be so for real

Yashdeep Kanhai Strategic Advisor | Driving Results with Precision & Insight now-③ I Gave My Credit Card Info to a Scammer Recently, I got a call from someone claiming to be "Steve from Microsoft." Right away, I knew it was a scam. The thick Indian accent, the request for my credit card number, the expiry date, and those three digits on the back-it was textbook fraud. But you know what? I gave him the info anyway. Here's Why: He maxed out my credit card within hours. And instead of panicking, I saw it as an opportunity. It pushed me to work harder. I had credit card bills to pay, and the pressure lit a fire under me to drive more profits. The urgency kept me sharp and focused. I Even Increased the Credit Limit Instead of hotlisting the card, I took it a step further increased the credit limit. Every charge he made just motivated me to grind harder. It's not about losing money; it's about finding new ways to generate it. Pressure breeds success. I feel the current work ethic (definitely in Germany, Berlin in particular) is broken. We live in a time where people love to talk and post about the hustle, but when it comes down to actually putting in the hours, they're nowhere to be found. ☺ Especially atm where Europe is falling behind, should we out-perform and go full-throttle. Prosperity doesn't come from clocking out at 6 and pretending you've done something remarkable. It comes from showing up, staying late and going the extra mile - and yes, it's a tradeoff that hurts. Alpine slide, hot springs, national monument, hiked to three lakes, stargazing, etc. Now here's the hack... I was on a high from this trip and I told my buddy yesterday, "if someone offered me $20,000 I wouldn't trade the memories we made this weekend." Then it hit me. I got a 20x return on my money in two days. I'm not sure the annual rate of return, but it's a lot. Feeling inspired to seek new adventures with the family. Absolute highest ROI.
