There was once a time when cowboys, trailblazers, and outlaws ruled all the land. It's interesting to take a moment to look back and see what the world looked like in the 1800s. While things have changed a lot over the past few hundred years, many images of America in the past exist online for all to see. From old tribes to travellers to saloons and wagons, life looked so different, but similar in some ways.

All of the Wild West and old American shows and movies will never add up to what life was truly like back in these days. Taking in just how different and kind of unrecognizable the world looked like in 1800s compared to today can be kind of mind-boggling. The people back then went through some crazy times.

Enjoy this journey to the past and channel your inner cowboy with these 25 images showcasing life, society, and the world as it existed in the days of the Wild West.
