Comic book fans are excited that the X-Men have been gradually joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but others are wondering about an even more neglected segment of Marvel comic-dom: the X-Men.

Since the '90s animated series, the superhero team has been one of the most popular comic-book franchises, but the movie versions have long been eclipsed by the Avengers.

The X-Men have only recently coexisted with our favorite Marvel heroes, with the clash between the two not even referenced in Deadpool until the third film, which officially merged the two. The comic fans will never really go away, though, and we're always staying optimistic for an MCU adaptation.

The stories of Storm, Cyclops, Wolverine and Professor X will always be in the fans' hearts, and so there will always be more material for memes about the super-team that has to fit saving the world into their class schedule.
