It is not easy to get and keep kids' attention these days. Pairing the short attention spans of children with all of the distracting technology out there makes it really difficult for teachers to teach. As technology and devices become more ingrained into the lives of kids, teachers need to find new ways to connect with their students on a personal level to keep them engaged. They are always trying to keep kids off of their devices and on to their work.

It isn't easy to connect with kids. Teachers have struggled with this for years. Kids don't think teachers are cool, and even the so-called cool teachers have kids who just don't get it. Some teachers and other professionals have developed an "if you can't beat them, join them" mentality. Internet slang and trends have started to become a part of schools and learning, and it sometime is just not working.

Here, we have collected 25 images of times teachers used memes and other forms of online and Internet culture in their classrooms to try and grab and maintain kids' attention. Did they work?
