These 15 'LinkedIn Lunatics' Make Working Hard

It isn't one of the social media sites you would think is filled with the crazy people, but surprisingly, LinkedIn is full of delusional people spewing pure nonsense. This site is made for professionals. It's made for working individuals to connect and share information about themselves and their businesses. While that does happen on the site, what happens more often is rich, out-of-touch CEOs and bosses making the most insane posts.

They are the kinds of people who think everyone should work on weekends. They think that work should be life, no matter what. They also all seem to really hate remote work, for some reason. The people on there are truly insane, which is why they've wound up here, and social media users have collectively decided to share all of the nonsense and garbage that is posted to the site for all to see and shake their heads at. As if working and looking for a job wasn't hard enough right now, this does not make it any better.

The candidates are the problem

Kate McKenzie. 3rd+ Matching problem solvers and quota... 23h- + Follow 22 candidates interviewed and not one of them was the right fit. My team just got started on an SDR search with a client who had interviewed 22 candidates, 0 hires. The biggest reason they passed on each of them? Candidates were only asking about PTO and WFH policies. Job Seekers: Interviewers learn more about you from the questions YOU ask, than any answer you give. It tells them what's important to you and if you did any research/prep prior to your interview. Yes, interviewing is a two-way street, but your questions shouldn't solely focus on what's in it for you. Explain how you can add value and solve problems first, then uncover how they reward employees who do. P.S - Glassdoor, RepVue, Comparably, etc can probably tell you what the benefits, WFH policies, etc. look like if it's not in the job description. CoO 213 181 comments • 8 reposts

7:00 750 President & CEO @ Leading Tactical Model Portfolio Builder & Market Research Provider. Reg... Visit my website 3h Edited Was out yesterday and grabbing food when I went into a location because the drive through was packed and not moving. Inside, I saw people hustling and working to get orders out. A woman said be right with you after greeting me. She came over, and as she did a baby was crying in a stroller parked next to the register. She said "shhh shh it's ok", then asked if she could help me. She then told me she was actually on maternity leave but came in to help the staff (ON MOTHERS DAY) because they were swamped. I was so impressed by her care and determination. But that's not the whole story. After I ordered, and I was waiting, I asked her how old her toddler was. She points to the one I saw crying and says, he's two, but this one is 2 DAYS OLD. She had a newborn in the car seat covered up with the stroller. She had a child TWO DAYS before, and instead of complaining or doom scrolling on her phone, she made a choice to come in and help the team ON MOTHERS DAY!! This type of grit, determination, care, and drive is inspiring. My wife and I were completely floored. As someone who has 3 kiddos, and who was raised by a single mom, I was nearly brought to tears. I asked her if she owned the business and she said no - I said you should! I hope this inspires you in whatever situation you are in to keep going. Don't give up. Don't give in. Keep going. You're seen. Waleed Rahyab and 11 others 5 comments Like Comment Reactions Comments Obristo ៨ Repost Send Most relevant ÷

Why do they hate WFH so much?

Cary Beale. 3rd+ Executive Recruiter Commercial Real Estate... + Follow Visit my website 1d. As a recruiter, I've noticed a significant gap with young employees requesting remote or hybrid roles while owners emphasize the importance of returning to the office. While some positions can be done remotely, many thrive with in-office collaboration. It's frustrating when recent graduates or early-career individuals insist on remote work; I firmly believe that being in the office is crucial for their learning and development. Just last week, I received a response to my message about a position that unequivocally requires in-office presence.... I would love your thoughts on this topic. Can the job be done remotely or in a hybrid environment? Such as WFH on Mondays and Fridays? No Netflix allowed

Dan Desko Founder & CEO @ Echelon | Cybersecurity Leader | IT Risk & T... 5h Maybe it's my blue-collar Pittsburgh mentality, but I can't imagine sitting on the couch and watching Netflix as a fulfilling life goal. For me (and I think for most human beings), I find meaning in my work, which is why the phrase "work/life balance" never made much sense to me. To me, work and life are braided together. My work feels like a vocation to me, and it's my pride and joy to integrate my work into my life. I feel like I'm serving my higher purpose. There's so much that comprises a meaningful life, and work is just one of many fulfilling avenues to pursue. But if you can figure out the right work/life integration, you're that much closer to finding meaning.
