The British zoo Peak Wildlife Park has gone viral on social media thanks to its cute video in which their meerkats sit on tiny deck chairs just like humans.

Over the last month, the video of the adorable mammals has garnered tens of millions of views on Instagram and several million views on TikTok.

Peak Wildlife Park is a wildlife attraction in central England that contains large enclosures for its various types of wild animals, while also providing its visitors with the opportunity to see said wildlife up close. Much like other big zoos and wildlife attractions, the park has social media accounts where they post cute videos of the different animals that they house.

Their videos tend to do reasonably well on Instagram and TikTok, but the adorable video of their resident meerkats interacting with the miniature deck chairs has been their biggest viral moment on both platforms.

The post starts with a park keeper holding one of the miniature deck chairs up to the camera, before placing it on the ground of the meerkat enclosure and securing it in place. Almost immediately, a curious meerkat approaches the tiny chair to investigate.

The video cuts to two meerkats that have climbed onto two of the same tiny chairs. Then, one of the meerkats turns around and plops down on the chair perfectly and adorably, looking like it’s about to enjoy a sunny Saturday afternoon.

After that, there are a few more clips of different meerkats climbing onto the chairs and sitting in different ways.

Aside from its millions of views, the video garnered over 1.1 million likes and over 2,400 comments on Instagram, as well as over 665,000 likes and 2,000 comments on TikTok.

However, one particular thing seems to have captured the attention of commenters on both platforms.

The human-like posture of that first meerkat sitting in the chair seemed to be especially cute to viewers, even in a video of meerkats just being generally adorable, and reminded a lot of commenters of a person on a beach vacation, patiently waiting for their drink.
